Most of my clients don't know this about me. Before SKYN, I spent 27 years in the aesthetic industry in education, sales and executive roles, working with some of the most respected medical brands in the world. I have sat in the labs, read the studies and trained providers across the country. What I love most is building a custom program that truly changes someone's skin.
But over the years I learned something just as important. Most people want simplicity in every part of life, and honestly, so do I. Not everyone wants a ten step routine. Sometimes the skin calls for one: melasma, chronic redness, uncontrolled oil or a full reset of skin health can take several targeted products to turn around. Yet every skin has a few basic needs, and I finally found a line that meets them with real science and very few bottles. That line is Pavīse, and I could not be more excited to bring it to SKYN.
The cabinet problem
Think about how most of us choose products. A friend swears by beef tallow because it's all natural. Your feed tells you to avoid anything synthetic, then the next video sells you a twelve step glow routine. You grab something at the department store or at Target because the packaging looks clean. Marketing trends come and go, and without a licensed, trained source to cut through them, it's easy to fall into whatever is loudest that week.
The result is a cabinet full of half used bottles. You've probably heard the estimate that the average woman has around $2,500 worth of products sitting at home, and from what I see in consults, I believe it. And when I ask clients to bring in what they're using, I usually find the same thing. Two or three antioxidant serums from different lines. A couple of acids. A retinol in one product and a different form of retinol hiding in another. Two moisturizers layered because the skin still feels tight. None of it was formulated to work together, and the skin simply doesn't know what to do with it. It becomes irritated and inflamed, and we see redness, breakouts, excess oil or sudden dryness.
The other cabinet: almost empty
Then there's the opposite. Many women I see are trying to keep things as natural and simple as possible, which I respect. In practice that often means a cleanser, a moisturizer and makeup with SPF standing in for sunscreen. That routine keeps skin clean, but it doesn't defend it against the things that age it. So nothing changes, and the frustration grows.
Too much or too little, both roads end in the same place: a barrier that's struggling and skin that's aging faster than it needs to.
Your barrier is your first line of defense
The outer layer of your skin works like a brick wall. The cells are the bricks, and the fats between them (ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids) are the mortar. When that wall is tight and intact, it holds water in and keeps irritants, pollution and bacteria out.
When the mortar wears thin from harsh products, too many actives or simply not enough protection, the wall leaks. That's when I see stubborn redness, oil that won't settle, dryness that no cream fixes and pigment that keeps coming back. Before we can change skin, we have to protect that wall.
Inflammaging and zombie cells, in plain words
You may have heard the word inflammaging. Scientists first described it in 2000, and it means a low, constant inflammation that slowly rises as we age. Picture embers that never fully go out. You can't see them day to day, but over years they wear down collagen, weaken the barrier and push pigment and redness.
Part of what keeps those embers going are zombie cells. Their real name is senescent cells. When a cell takes enough damage from sun, stress or time, it stops dividing, but it doesn't die and clear out the way it should. Instead it lingers and sends out inflammatory signals that age the healthy cells around it and break down the collagen that keeps skin firm. One zombie cell becomes a bad neighbor to many.
What actually ages skin
The sun. A study of 298 women found UV exposure accounts for about 80% of visible facial aging signs. This is why daily SPF is non negotiable for me.
Oxidative stress. Sun, pollution and screens create unstable molecules called free radicals that damage cells and feed inflammation.
A damaged barrier. A leaky wall lets irritants in and keeps the inflammation going.
Lifestyle. Poor sleep, stress and diet add to the oxidative load.
Time. As we age, senescent cells build up and our own repair slows down.
A good routine has to answer each of these. A cleanser and a moisturizer answer almost none of them.
Why Pavīse
Pavīse is what I call the brainiac child of skin science. It's a biotechnology line built around DiamondCore, a proprietary form of zinc oxide bonded to nanodiamonds. In lab studies, it helped skin cells close a wound gap about twice as fast. And in donated human skin exposed to UV, it lowered p16, a marker of those zombie cells, by 36%. Much of this research is early and lab based, and I'll always tell you that. I read the studies myself so you don't have to guess.

That's it. Three steps in the morning and three at night. If your skin runs dry, we may add a simple moisturizer. If you're treating melasma, active acne or deeper aging, or you're in your 40s and ready for a retinoid, we build on this base together. Pavīse becomes the foundation, never the clutter.

Start with Dynamic Age Defense. It is the minimum I recommend for every adult, every day, because it covers the biggest cause of visible aging and replaces two or three other products while it does it. Add Bioadaptive Stress Repair at night when you're ready, and your routine is complete.
